About a week ago I purchased the JBL Live 670NCs and went in with no real expectations. I had experience with JBL headphones in the past but for some reason I went into this purchase with a blank slate. Off the back the 670NCs were very familiar to me. I owned the JBL Live 460NCs which are the predecessor to these and the design is nearly identical. I don't think this is a bad thing as I tend to like JBLs design language. The body is made of a light weight plastic but feels well made. The headband and side clamps feel like it could be made with metal as it feels strong and cool to the touch. I went with black and the finish is matte which is a nice touch. Fingerprints do appear on the headphones there just not as noticeable. The buttons on the right side of the ear cup are nice and click-y.   Now this is not a dig at Pebblebee or Chipolo . I believe their initial offerings are about what I was expecting. The specs are very similar although at first glance the Pebblebee seems to be a slightly better option to me. I suggest anyone that's interested in an Android tracker check out each product page for each manufacturer for themselves.  I buried the lead a bit. This past week Google finally announced their Android Find My Device Network is now rolling out to Android users in the US and Canada with global expansion later. With the Android FMDN users will be able to locate their phones, earbuds, headphones and tablets with the help of Android devices contributing to the network. In some cases users will be able to find their lost devices even with them powered off. The Pixel 8/8 Pro will support this feature.  With that, the reason why I am waiting to see if Google is making an Android tracker is simple. In another quiet move by Google, the Pixelbook Go will receive software support until June 2029. The original end date was June 2025. I really like that Google is providing additional years of support for their older devices. The move is also interesting because last year Google announced that Chromebooks made in the last couple of years will receive 10 years of software updates, however, the Pixelbook Go was released in 2019. Not sure how well software will run on the device but I plan on seeing how this machine holds up until then. Check out the screenshot below with the new update schedule.

  Google continues to support the Pixelbook Go and recently updated the near 5 year old laptop to Android 13 with the newly released ChromeOS 123. The update is not user facing as one may expect but I did notice more apps with animated splash screens and sweet app open effects. Also, I believe the per app language feature may be tied to the Android 13 update. Performance of the laptop since the update has been very similar to the previous Android version. This is a win in my book. With ChromeOS 123 other features were released. Check out what's new below along with a screenshot of the new Android version.   Google has finally done it and removed the Pixelbook Go from the Google Store. There was no formal announcement and one can only assume that the device that was originally released in 2019 is now discontinued. It's not clear what the future holds for the Pixelbook line but I really do hope there is another Google laptop in the pipeline. With no rumors to go off of that's all we really have right now, hope. 

I was somewhat in the market for a new smaller bag. Well maybe not in the market but in the mood for something new. In any event, I came across this crossbody on the Bellroy website and was intrigued with the look and the smallish size. Decided to pick it up and it came in at a whopping $60. Not bad but not exactly cheap either.  Now here we are, I got the new Bellroy bag and I definitely have some thoughts. The Pixel Buds Pro have been on the market just over a year and I have owned a pair since they first launched. In short, the Pixel Buds Pro are my favorite Google earbuds to date. Probably my favorite ear buds to date too. Google got so much right with these ear buds. From the design to the ANC to the Transparency mode feature the Pixel Buds Pro are good at all of these features just to name a few. Sony's latest mid-range headphones are quite good but not perfect. They definitely get the job done with ANC and transparency in terms of features.
