JBL Tune 660NC | Impressions after one week

The JBL Tune 660NC surprised me in a way that I did not think was possible with a budget set of headphones. I mean these things are solid in the areas that really matter with a set of headphones. Lets talk about some aspects of the noise cancelling headphones I find important to point out.

Build quality

Overall, I feel the Tune 660NC are well built and shows no signs of creaking. The speaker driver handled music at high volumes without distorting and I found the buttons to be clicky and well placed for easy usage. However, all is not good as I also found the headphones to feel cheap and that's probably due to the low grade materials being used. Well built with cheap materials is fine in my book for a budget set of headphones.

Design

The design is pretty basic but I do find the headphones to be attractive looking. The matte black is a nice touch but can get fingerprints on them quite easily.

Comfort

There is not much padding around the head band so I do not recommend the Tune 660NC for long listening sessions. The padding around the earcups is okay and all in all I give comfortability a passing grade. I was able to get 1 to 2hrs of listening time before feeling any ear fatigue.

Sound quality

I find the sound quality to be descent to pretty good at best. Bass is very prominent and somewhat accurate. There is a level of detail in the music but lacks a richness or a crispness I've grown to enjoy in my music. In general, I would say good bass, nice mids and subpar highs that's well balanced. I'm no audiophile so take my opinion and experience so far with a grain of salt.

ANC

The active noise cancellation is definitely the highlighting feature of the headphones for me. I ran a couple of tests (nothing scientific) and was shocked I did not hear anything. However, I found that loud noises that are more boomy came through but the sound was significantly lower.

My thoughts after a week of use

For a budget set of headphones I really like them. The noise cancellation is better than I expected and the sound quality is good enough. Fast Pair by Google makes it extremely easy to pair with your Android phone. Thats pretty much it. Basic noise cancellation headphones that get the job done. Good build, passable sound quality with surprisingly good noise cancellation. I definitely recommend but don't expect any other features outside of what I previously mentioned.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 review after 1 month | Google's Premium Earbuds

Google follows up the OG Pixel Buds Pro with version 2 and I must say that the Pro 2s are better in just about every way. The stand out feature to me really isn't a feature it's more about the fit. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 is 27% smaller and it shows. This helps with the fit and the wing tip is there to make sure things stay nice and snug. The rest of the package is very similar to the previous model just better. Check the video for my thoughts and see if the Pixel Buds Pro 2 may be a good fit for you. No pun intended.
