JBL Endurance Peak 2 are my favorite workout headphones and its not even close

Amazon.com: JBL Endurance Peak II - Waterproof True Wireless in-Ear Sport Headphones - Black: Electronics

Not that long ago I was looking for some workout earphones that would work well with my Pixel 5. I came across a few before deciding to go with these and the main selling point for me is Fast Pair. Fast Pair is what Google calls its nearby Bluetooth LE protocol that allows Android devices to communicate with. It also features account syncing, locating lost devices, and battery stats for each individual earbud and case. Forgive the tangent but this technology is pretty cool.

So back to what I was saying. The earphones of course had to feature Fast Pair, have a good IP rating, sound good, and have the earhook design. The earhook design was not as important but I am glad that JBL made it for these earphones. In short, the Endurance Peak 2 delivered on everything I previously mentioned. It also has some pretty good touch controls where you skip tracks and turn the volume up or down.

Cool features

Powerhook is the earhook that also doubles as the on/off switch for each of the earbuds. The earhook is also bendable and adjusts to how you would want to wear them. Very comfortable in my opinion.

Dual Connect is a feature that allows you to use either earbud at a time. Calls, adjusting the volume, or talking to the assistant can be used on each ear.

IPX7 is the rating for the Endurance Peak 2. That's sweatproof and waterproof.

Battery life is rated 6hrs per earbud and 24 for the case so that's a grand total of 30hrs all together. Pretty solid if you ask me.

Quick hitters

Connectivity is good for me as well. I haven't experienced any disconnects or instability with the Bluetooth connection with my Pixel 5. Sound quality is good. Bass thumps and the music can get pretty loud. JBL touts never hurt or fall out on their website and I agree. JBL tends to have good ergonomics on their headphones and earphones. Very comfortable and did not fall out in my testing. I didn't make any phone calls on them so I can't speak to that.

What is not so good?

The case is kind of big and a pain to have in your pocket, especially if you are working out. I suggest leaving the case behind and just use the earbuds. I usually use one earbud on runs.

Final thoughts

These earbuds are pretty dope. I dig the design. Sound quality is above average. Fast Pair is a nice addition. And the Powerhook earhook is a nice forward-thinking feature. At $99 I can confidently recommend the JBL Endurance Peak 2.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 review after 1 month | Google's Premium Earbuds

Google follows up the OG Pixel Buds Pro with version 2 and I must say that the Pro 2s are better in just about every way. The stand out feature to me really isn't a feature it's more about the fit. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 is 27% smaller and it shows. This helps with the fit and the wing tip is there to make sure things stay nice and snug. The rest of the package is very similar to the previous model just better. Check the video for my thoughts and see if the Pixel Buds Pro 2 may be a good fit for you. No pun intended.
